Torchwood - Meat
- Waistcoats happened:
Just to slide that one in there. Mmmmmm. Waistcoats. Sadly, the waistcoat went with the fugliest tie Ianto's ever worn. Can't win them all. Also, Ianto was boozing it right up this episode. Lol. - So yeah... Barrowman. If his skillz don't improve, I'm totally going to start shipping Ianto and Tosh or something. BAD BAD BAD ACTING, YET AGAIN. It made my eyes and ears BLEED. Why does this have to be so? Bad man!!!
- Ianto, aww. He has hidden depths of
anguish and darknesstummyratsl33t ninja skillzbackstory THAT WILL PROVE INTERESTING AND RELEVANT LATER ON. I'm guessing ruthless bounty hunter. Or manwhorespy. Or something. Action!Ianto was hella funny. And they're still giving him the best lines. We could release a single, indeed. - Oh thank God, they're trying to make me hate Gwen again, I thought something had gone wrong with the universe. Good Lord, what a ho she is. No, by all means, don't retcon him this time, save that for the next time you confess an affair, that'll be fun.
- Speaking of Gwen, what am I supposed to be making of Jack/Gwen? WHAT IS THAT ALL ABOUT??? I don't understand what's going on.
redscharlach says in her review here exactly what my problem is as well: "You could HAVE Gwen if you just grabbed her. It's the fact that their relationship is being obstructed by virtually nothing that really annoys me. It's being held up by the scruples of a man with next to no scruples." YES. EXACTLY. If he wants to fuck Gwen, why doesn't he just fuck Gwen? It's not like she has any morals either. If he wants to fuck Ianto, he could easily just fuck Ianto. Is he starting up a RELATIONSHIP with Ianto? (If so, they're hiding it well from everyone else, by the way) Would he rather have had a RELATIONSHIP with Gwen? If so, why is he wooing Ianto? None of it makes any fucking sense. All these fucking intense looks and vehement declarations towards her. WHY??? Please, someone explain it to me, it's starting to make me h8.
- And finally, of course, speaking of hate, Tosh and Owen. *blinks* What happened there? Oh, that's right, we're going to ignore everything that's happened to her, and every hint we've had that Owen knows damn well what's going on and we're going to paint Tosh as the pathetically fixated geek chick we all know she is. WAY TO GO! THANK YOU. That was really helpful, considering she was starting to seem strong and kind of sexy and independent and capable of coping without the white boy who doesn't love her back. Grrrrrr. H8H8H8.
- Next week's looks good, but will be incredibly straightforward and far far less emotionally compelling than everyone seems to think it will be. Trust me.
ETA: Since I put that picture up anyway, why do they have a three-brick hole in their wall? With mood lighting behind it? Is that just Jack showing off again?
ETA Again: ALSO, I was most disappointed that after Owen having declared the meat safe, nobody suggested cooking just a tiny piece, to see what it tasted like.
