save me jeebus

YAY for the Church Sign Generator

Which served to remind me how much pleasure I used to get from randomly reading Chick Tracts online. My love for Chick Tracts knows no bounds. So I went to see how old Jack was doing only to find that he recently decided to explain them wacky Muslims to us in great detail in his own inimitable way.

I love Jack. I really, really do.

I was brought up totally religion-free, which always made for an interesting conversationpiece in a place like Townsend, Massachussetts. Americans always seem to be something, practicing or not, whether it be Jewish or Catholic or Protestant or Methodist or whatever the hell. I remember them having a great deal of difficulty understanding someone who wasn't anything in particular, and often referring to me as an Atheist. Because then at least I was something. I adopted the term Agnostic just to annoy them, because nobody knew what it meant. But then, I was 11 at the time, and nobody knew exactly what a blow job entailed either, though speculation was always rife at lunchtime, especially when there were bananas in the cafeteria. My childhood rocked. Anyway.

I sometimes quite envy people who really believe. They seem happier somehow.
*sigh*
I'm too cynical for any of that guff. But each to their own, I suppose.

Ho hum.

You ever notice how people who believe in creationism look really unevolved?
I miss Bill Hicks sometimes. I don't know where I was going with that thought, but there you are. My mind is wandering today.

As you were.

*loves you carnally*

bill hicks and chick tracts. i can't think of a better way to wake up in the morning. :)

btw, i feel your pain with the agnostic's envy, there. i've been through rcia twice and never joined. whatever believers profess may or may not be true, but yeah...psychologically speaking, they're happier people overall. *sigh*

When I was in Jr. High, I wrote my name and address on several one dollar bills to see if anyone would write. I got my first and only letter when I was about to go off to college... and the dude enclosed a Chick tract. That was the first time I ever saw one, and teh crazy it scared the bejeebers out of me and I never wrote the guy.
