RTD renames his characters over and over he says in interviews, otherwise he forgets the names. So you have the doctor (John Smith), Martha Jones, Ianto Jones, Jack Harkness, James Harper, John Hart, Yanto Jones (in some other RTD show) Stuart Jones (QAF), Rose Tyler, Vince Tyler (QAF) and now we have Matheson and another Jones to play with. Whee!
