Yeah, I don't expect him to just get over Steven either -- however, I think he was cognizant of why he was doing it at the time (I totally hated this plot direction - I would have had Clem snap back to reality and sacrifice himself to save the children and stop his own misery. Sad too, but logical, since he had a connection to the 456.)

Owen's death had a reasonable arc/purpose. Tosh and Ianto were gratuitous, IMO. Suzie did go in the first episode, so I think one team loss per series sort of... isn't actually that unexpected for the tone set at the start. TW has always been a mix of crackaliciousness and angst, to me.
