Angst/PTSD aside, Jack's coat should have been in tatters after his time underground. Ridic.
I think Jack will be in a S4, so I'll take that bet. And you're probably right about the limited emo. But... he's had a wife and a former wife die on him, and Estelle, and God knows how many other people. And it's arguable that Tosh and Owen's deaths were his fault since he recruited them. So I just don't get how he could bounce back from those and not from Ianto and Steven, after x period of time.
If he couldn't bounce back from others' deaths, he'd have been in a permanent catatonic state from emotional freakout long before this.
I wish we had the old team back, but I'll take a new team + Jack and some monster-of-the-week episodes + a greater threat arc. I only really care because I miss the X-Files and need a sci-fi fandom. (Though I'll be following Doctor Who, too.)
