You've probably 'seen' the author in the podcast discussion about the accusations of homophobia on CoE, I remember seeing that much linked in a torch_wood post (and if you haven't seen it, it's linked at the end of the essay, as well). He does not think RTD is homophobic, but he does seem to think that CoE comes off as homophobic, especially if it's considered separately from the first two seasons.
