See i'm thinking that with the couple comments and the 'die like a dog' comments, that there's two ways this could be foreshadowing.
Either (1) Jack gets all couply and then Ianto dies or (2) Ianto dies and Jack wishes he could have been all properly couply with him and then it turns out Ianto was only fake!dead.
