You've summed up nicely why the child sexual abuse comparison is inappropriate. I'd add that abusers isolate their victims, they don't leave them with hundreds of other people with whom to discuss what took place! That said, it could still come across as creepy, but I think to decide that we'd need actual footage of the request, and not nth-hand accounts.
