I think GDL's a brilliant little actor, and he's just getting started. I'm excited to see him move on. I credit him with the fascination a lot of people have for Ianto's character, a lot of that is down to very good, subtle acting choices on his part. His really strong point is reaction shots, and that's such a difficult thing to get right, and he's consistenly awesome at it, not over the top, but clear and nuanced. I love him.

Having said that, as you say, funny is not his strong point, he's been either over the top or underwhelming on quite a few occasions.
