Gareth David-Lloyd: Pie status

I said I'd get a few conventions out of the way before doing a pie update, so here it is. It is actually just an excuse to post some pictures for great justice and all that. (Picture credits in the titles, peeps.)

Polaris Toronto, a week and a bit ago. Let's start with pressing pie matters:

I can't quite work out what's going on in this one, is that a bulge? Or is that the shirt? Answers on a postcard, please, fabric or tum?? I just can't decide. What I can see is that he hasn't been taking my advice to heart regarding not putting things in his pockets because it draws the eye away from his cock. *squints* Unless that is his cock. In which case I haven't said a word and congratulations, young man.

Onwards!

THAT'S MORE LIKE IT! Two shining examples of how, if they can't quite see it, to keep the audience at least thinking about your cock. Put a wee doggy on it. Make sure the doggy looks happy and pleased to be near it. A stellar plan, well thought through, well executed. Kudos, Gareth.

I was meant to be taling about pie, but, again, I can't quite make my mind up. I think we're still heading in the right direction, but I can't be sure.

On to ComicCon, last Thursday:

Again, there's a strange fabricy thing going on here that I can't quite put my finger on. In this case I'm pretty sure it's fabric. Also, yes, that's John Barrowman's mother. Maybe we could ask her? And, yet again, unless your cock is shaped like a packet of fags, Gareth, I'm thinking that's probably a packet of fags. STOP IT!

This one's a bit clearer on the pie front, and I'm thinking this is definitely a positive development. Also, I note the tan thing has been taken on board, and damn, it does suit him. The pasty Welshness wasn't helping matters in any way. Good job, boy!

Chin status: Good, going well. Designer stubble, still, so it's hard to tell, but again I think we're going places. Good, fine places. Also, maybe I've just put this smiley picture in for no real reason. It's cute. Mmmm.

PIE STATUS AS OF JULY 2008: Still undecided, but the tan is doing it for me. I'm going, hesitantly, with a positive progession.

ETA: From the pictures and video I've been looking at re. pie, I'm getting the distinct impression that in the past few months Gareth has fallen into the trap that so many young men have fallen into before him. He does seem to be going to the gym regularly now, but he seems to be concentrating on building up muscle. He's gone way broader on top than he used to be and he's suddenly way more defined in the chest and shoulders, but he doesn't seem to be getting enough aerobic exercise to get rid of the gut. Hire a personal trainer, boy!

Last note of non-connected noteworthyness, this is [livejournal.com profile] griggharris' signed picture:

IT IRKS ME, that NOBODY at the BBC has, in the past year, taken it upon themselves to edit the shadows of the other cast member's coats out of these individual promo shots that they cut out of the group shot. IT'S LAZY AND STUPID AND WOULD ONLY TAKE TEN MINUTES IN PHOTOSHOP FFS! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I do recall seeing that he was spotted hitting the gym in Toronto. Considering he's kinda-sorta on vacation, that shows some dedication, and judging by his arms in all the CC pics, I'd say it's paying off.
There was one video from the beginning of the panel, he and John hugged, and I swear Gareth looked the broader (in a good muscular shoulders and arms way) of the two.

Someone else has spotted that Gareth's arms appeared broader than JB's at the convention. As for his tum, as long as it's flatter than Daniel Craig's, that's all that matters. And tums are meant to be a bit round.

He looks great. :)

JB mentioned twice at Comic-Con that Gareth has a big c**k. I wonder if Gareth was a bit freaked out by that? :)

Amen on the arms! I think it's getting cannon, bottom!Jack.

But still... abs people, it's all about the abs, that's another way to make people think about your cock.

Cock and abs, inseparable! and hip bone. Mark my words.

I know Torchwood probably doesn't care about abs (it won't show anyway; in Ianto's case, suit hides everything), so the only problem is the chin, but for your future career's sake, work on the abs, Gareth (and John as well).

I always thought abs (abdominal muscles) can only appear after the tummy's gone... technically we are talking about the same thing here... are we having the inter Atlantic moment (yes, Americans doesn't make sense)?

Nodding, yes, yes, I see your point now.

See... I used to date really slim guys, and they almost always had amazing abs. Which was really nice, yes. But...
Then I dated a couple of wrestlers. Big guys, Gareth and John's height. In fact, thinking about it John reminds me a bit of one (toned and tanned, big personality, everyone used to tease that he looked a bit like Tom Cruise), and Gareth reminds me a bit of the other (Bit taller, scruffier, not as all-over toned and tanned, but still built).
God, no wonder I love Torchwood. I think we have found the root of my fangirl obsession, right there... anyway.
Neither were the massive style of muscular, just VERY nicely built. Broad shoulders, toned chests, lovely arms. They'd wrap those arms around me, and it was the most amazing feeling. Completely changed my taste in men with the first hug.
So, I have a special appreciaton now for tall guys, who work on their shoulders, chests, and arms over their abs. I can deal with a bit of a tummy, if they can make a large-framed girl like me feel nicely delicate.

I know exactly what you are talking about. But for me, the visual pleasure never equal the physical pleasure. Yes, big guys are good for touching and hugging (so is teddy bear) and a lot more...(like you, I tried both) but I still maintain my unhealthy archaic aesthetics, when I only get to watch, which is the case here.
