I don't want Jack to be less realistic, I think it's perfectly realistic that he should be unsure and not very committed as to where the relationship is going. What I'm saying is that changes in tone, style, and actual content from episode to episode and from medium to medium (blogs, tv, books) strike me as not being down to Jack being unsure and uncommitted as to where he wants the relationship to go, but down to the writers not knowing where to take Jack as a character and Jack's relationship with Ianto specifically. I'm always talking about the writing, nothing more.
